query on EGMP

Hi,

I have done Diploma in IHM from AICTE approved college from Bhopal passed out on 2001. Got selected as Mgmt Trainee in McDonalds. Had excellent performance track record. and got promoted to various levels in very short span of time. like Mgmt Tr. to Restaurant Mgr in 3 yrs.. and than got promoted to Ops Consultant for Region.. Now i have moved to Training and HR role working as Dep mgr handling entire South India.

Till now only exp has been mcDonalds of 8 yrs... Wanted to EGMP course from IIMB.

What do you advise me.. will it be worth doing.. what are returns expected from the course.. will it add on the value in my profile..

From a long term perspective, yes, 1 yr MBA from IIMB is a good addition to yr profile and your knowledge base. However in short term it may not pay you immediate returns.

I think the course costs anywhere btw 15-20 lakhs tho loan is available and of course you forgo 1 yr salary as well
Placements are good but generally in sectors other than hospitality so you may have to work harder to find a good
job of yr choice with a salary that you feel makes the program worth it. The avg last year was around Rs 18 lakhs p.a.

So if you think long term, answer is yes!
If you can't think beyond 1-2 years, no.
