I am reading 'Market Wizards' by Jack Schwager. Interviews with America's top traders.
Altho I have no interest in trading commodities, futures, options etc it's interesting to know how the system works. And what makes some traders more successful than others!
If you are a commerce of MBA (finance) student you'd definitely freak out on this book!
Ah, LOTR...I read it back when I was a kid...Impatient and restless...so here's a little tip that I used
Skip 2 pages when it gets boring...believe me, you won't miss anything important...more often than not, you'll still be on the same crappy boring scene...
I'm Currently Reading- 'Palestine' by Joe Sacco
Damn good stuff, It's a Graphic Novel, with Political connotations...I mean WOW!!
The non-fiction story revolves around the journeys of the Author, Journalist Joe Sacco, and His friend, Saburo, a Photographer from japan, as they spend 2 months in some of the regions of Palestine that have been worst affected by the Armed conflicts in the 90's...And they hear and witness one Tragic , heartbreaking tale after another, they end up drained, emotionally and physically, and wonder how those people manage to live their lives...
Since it's a Graphic novel (a Comic, for all you cultural ignoramuses...) It hits you harder than just words...the images of riots, victims of armed rebellion, the condition of prisons are all put forward with 10 times more impact than a novel would have...
Something I read in Aubrey Menon's autobiography actually pointed me to the Upanishads and got me to read this. It seems it's really an anti-religious book tied to a religious book. Seems that, no other religion has this happening.
Started on with Lolita.
Last book I read, rather tried HARD to read, was Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance. Sigh, It was realllly heavy..atleast for me. It's part philosophy and part travelogue. Only the latter kept me going. After reaching half-way, I couldn't continue anymore. I'd like to know the opinions of those who've read it. This book seriously made me question my RC ability! :(
@shubhi
I dunno about you but this is the trick I used - read the whole book - the travelogues part once in continuation. Then read the whole book with the philo added. Actually, the book makes more sense with the philosophy included. Appreciation for philo is a great bonus and understanding cycle parts useful.
After I read it I absolutely adored the book - brought a copy and read my favourite parts whenever I like to.
Reading Airport by Arthur Hailey. It's his only book I haven't read. Left Disclosure on the shelf for another day.
@shubhi
have to agree 100% with u on this..i finished this one with quite a lot of effort and at the end of it I had no clue wat he was trying to say!!! :(
