This happened last week at a premium B-school:

We (QuizMonks; the research team) reach the venue of the quiz two hours before the scheduled time for a dry run.
1) The event head has flown off to Delhi to participate in some other quiz. (Bravo!)

2) The assistant in-charge takes us to the venue when there’s hardly 30 minutes left for the quiz to start.

3) The LCD switches off every 2 minutes; there is no mic; no sound cord for the laptop to test the audio questions.… Continue

Hero Honda Commercial – Dhak Dhak

This one is Hero Honda’s silver jubilee commercial. Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan hop skip and dance to the song ‘Dhak Dhak… Hero Honda’ for around three minutes. It’s touted to be one of the most expensive ads shot in recent times. The ad doesn’t make any sense; it looks and feels like a Bollywood song. I don’t know why the makers of this film call it ‘the performance of a lifetime’ for Amitabh Bachchan. The actor has gone completely overboard with his exaggerated acting in this one. Its time he called it quits and I have been feeling this for quite sometime now.

Bachchan plays aging Harish Mishra, a retired theatre actor. He lives and breathes Shakespeare. He’s recoiled to his home in (then) Calcutta. A modern day stylish film director, Siddharth (Arjun Rampal), persuades him to do a comeback… Continue

On Saturday, the 30th of Aug’08, IIT Bombay saw the reunion of Nihilanth after a three year break. For the uninitiated Nihilanth is an annual quiz fest involving six IIMs and seven IITs. It is apparently, as the organizers say, to increase interaction between the IITs and the IIMs. The festival rolls on from one institute to another. This year the return of Nihilanth was at IIT-Bombay.
